The Connell team have recently completed works on the Ōakura battery energy storage system (BESS) site near New Plymouth, Taranaki for clients Powerco.

The BESS will help to improve the reliability of the electricity supply for customers in and around the area.

Connell delivered extensive earthworks and a tight fitout to the site including ducting, drainage, foundation works and bunds, fencing and more.

Utilising the Connell team’s full skillset, we were able to complete most of the works in house, something Regional Manager Fabian Bracken said was a testament to the team’s flexibility, attention to detail and ability to deliver large projects.

“The team were able to deliver great results while staying to the scope of the project. It’s a great example of our ability to offer multi-discipline services to clients around the North Island across a wide range of sectors.”
